Carol Lawrence

Director - Camano Lutheran Preschool

My name is Carol Lawrence, and I am the Director at Camano Lutheran Preschool. I began teaching at Camano Lutheran Preschool in 2002 and became the director in 2010. I have been married to my best friend, Dan, for the past 40 years. We have three beautiful children who have married and brought us three more wonderful adults to love. We have three of the most adorable granddaughters and our newest addition of the sweetest little grandson. I feel so blessed and love them so much.

I have spent the past almost 22 years working in and learning more about early childhood education. I am passionate about helping children reach their potential and find a love of learning and growth. I firmly believe that each child is a gift from God and that it is our privilege to partner with parents/guardians to provide an atmosphere where children can learn and grow, and parents feel supported and encouraged.

  • Amber Kintner

Mrs. Kintner is rejoining our staff after taking a few years away to focus on family. She has a B.A. in Elementary Education and has experience working for the school district for several years. She currently works as a substitute for the district when needed. Mrs. Kintner finds the most joy in working with the early childhood level of education. She lives in Stanwood with her husband and three children who attend Stanwood schools.

“I truly find so much joy in working with preschoolers. I love that I can help prepare them for a successful transition into kindergarten. Having taught kindergarten before, I feel that our preschool program really does provide the environment and help young children need to develop independence and confidence going into kindergarten.”

  • Ashli French

Mrs. French has been teaching at Camano Lutheran Preschool teaching for several years after working as the teacher’s aide. Mrs. French is married to her high school sweetheart and they have two beautiful children. Mrs. French continues to grow in her knowledge and experience with our littles learners.

“Teaching preschoolers is a passion of mine. Watching the children grow and prepare for kindergarten is very rewarding.”

  • Marilyn Smith

Mrs. Smith is a retired school teacher, she taught for 35 years in the public schools of Washington State. Marilyn has been working in our preschool in some capacity for 5 years. She teaches the 3-day a week Early Start class. Mrs. Smith is a widowed mother of two adult educators and she has four young adult grandchildren all in their early twenties.

“I enjoy working with the children and staff of Camano Lutheran Preschool. This work is rewarding and makes me feel productive. I am also a member of the Camano Lutheran Church.”

  • Abi Hansen

Mrs. Hansen has taught at the preschool level for many years, both at a previous preschool and in Sunday school. She teaches our 2-day a week Early Learners class. Mrs. Hansen lives in Stanwood with her wonderful husband, their two beautiful daughters, and their two adorable dogs.

“My favorite part of working with preschoolers is the contagious joy they bring wherever they go. They are growing in leaps and bounds socially and mentally, at this stage. I am so grateful that I get the opportunity to guide these little ones through their earliest years of learning.”
